The announcement is three sentences long
Adcock's post says: the personal AI product launches this week, the waitlist is open, the first 100,000 get the paid plan free. Hark's own site describes "a service that helps users complete various tasks" and "the most advanced personal intelligence in the world." That is all anyone outside the company knows about what is launching.
Three facts and zero product detail is a choice. A waitlist converts curiosity into a signup count before there is anything to judge. "First 100,000 free" manufactures urgency and, later, a number to quote. The lab is selling distribution ahead of the product.
The company behind the waitlist
Hark was founded in late 2025 with $100 million of Adcock's own money and introduced publicly on March 24, 2026 after eight months in stealth. It then raised $700 million at a $6 billion post-money valuation, led by Parkway Venture Capital, with Nvidia, AMD Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Intel Capital, Salesforce Ventures, ARK Invest, Brookfield, Greycroft, Prime Movers Lab, Tamarack Global, and Align Ventures in the round. At the time: no public product, no demo, no pricing.
The bet, as far as anyone can tell: a "universal interface" for the digital world aimed at ordinary people who don't write code, eventually paired with bespoke hardware. The design lead is Abidur Chowdhury, a former Apple product executive. One analyst put it plainly: "The actual thing being sold here isn't a roadmap. It's a résumé." Adcock founded Figure AI and Archer Aviation before this. Investors are betting the pattern repeats.
Hark has shipped exactly one product: Hark Handoff, announced in August, a computer-use agent that spins up a dedicated virtual computer per request. It posted 97.7 on Online-Mind2Web, ahead of GPT-5.4's 92.8 and Claude Opus 4.8's 84.1, and serves tokens at $0.18/$2.37 per million in and out. Respectable numbers. They describe an agent for the web, not the personal intelligence the lab was founded to build.
What to watch this week
Whether the launch is a distinct product or a consumer wrapper around Handoff. The price of the paid tier — the giveaway implies one exists, and its price says what Hark thinks an agent's time is worth. And whether "personal intelligence" survives contact with real calendars, inboxes, and the permissions an agent needs to actually act on your behalf. Everyone promises persistent memory now. The test is what it remembers, and what it is allowed to touch.
