This is a preview, not a results story. Anthropic plans to present its third-quarter financials to institutional investors on Wednesday 14 October at its San Francisco headquarters. Bloomberg reported the planned investor event on 1 October. CNBC reported on 13 October, citing two people familiar with the matter, that this will be the first presentation of Q3 figures. Anthropic declined to comment, per CNBC.

State plainly what is not public: no revenue, profit or loss figure from the meeting; no IPO size, no price range and no confirmed listing date. Everything the public currently has is the shape of the event — a private lab preparing for a possible listing, showing its newest quarter first to the investors who would price it.

The two numbers doing the rounds

Two figures attach to this story, and both need their sourcing kept attached. People familiar with the company's plans expect Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate could exceed $100 billion by the end of 2026. That is a forward-looking estimate, not revenue already earned and not a disclosed Q3 result.

Sources cited by CNBC also suggested a potential listing valuation of approximately $2 trillion. That is an unconfirmed valuation scenario, not a public filing, an offer price or a completed transaction.

The definition is the open question

CNBC did not establish which revenue measure Anthropic will present at the 14 October meeting, including whether sales through cloud partners will be reported on a gross or net basis. That reporting gap should not be confused with evidence that Anthropic has failed to define the metric internally.

OpenAI recently told investors that its annualized revenue was approximately $50 billion at the end of September, below an earlier widely reported figure of roughly $68 billion to $70 billion. Reporting attributed the difference largely to gross-versus-net treatment of cloud-partner sales, rather than weaker underlying demand. The disclosure contributed to an AI-stock selloff, although other market pressures were also present.

The practical discipline is the same one that applied to OpenAI's revision: when a lab quotes a revenue figure, ask whether partner revenue is inside it. This article will be updated with a dated note if disclosed figures or a stated accounting treatment emerge from the 14 October meeting.
